I grew up in a creative family and have always been exposed to art and design. This is probably what led me to pursue a college career in Textile and Apparel Design at UW-Madison. I went on to study at the Fashion Institute of Technology for Surface Design. I returned from New York to WI where I was hired at Lands' End as a Textile Development Assistant. It was here where I gained knowledge of product development and worked closely with designers, sourcing, merchants, as well as factories overseas.
My next step was at Sears Holdings Corporation in Chicago, where I made my debut as a designer for Home Fashions. I developed products for modern, casual, and seasonal brands as well as Ty Pennington's licensed brand. I expanded my skills to include tabletop, home decor, and linens.
I furthered my textile design career at Nostalgia Home Fashions. As working partners with major retailers, I designed products for Dillards, JcPenney, Ralph Lauren, and Bed Bath and Beyond to name a few. I facilitated all aspects of the design process including researching trends, designing prints, creating color palettes, and working directly with factories to produce product.
Currently, I co-own and operate Dodge Station Pottery, an artisan dinnerware company. Here, we design and produce handmade, sustainable dinnerware and home decor that's intended for a lifetime of enjoyment. Soon, we will introduce linens and printed wears into our collection.
